Meghan Markle donned $120 jumpsuit from a favourite ethical brand in behind-the-scenes British Vogue video – as Edward Enninful hails Duchess as being ‘very much her own person’

The Duchess of Sussex donned a jumpsuit from a favourite ethical label for a video promoting her upcoming issue of British Vogue. 

Meghan, 37, looked relaxed in the $120 (£100) piece from US-based Everlane – a brand she has worn on a number of previous occasions – as she joined editor-in-chief Edward Enninful for the behind-the-scenes clip released on social media yesterday. 

Fashion fans hoping to emulate the Duchess’ style are in luck – the laid back jumpsuit is still available to buy online.  

It comes as Enninful described being introduced to the royal as ‘meeting a long-lost friend’ in a new interview about their hotly-anticipated September issue.

Speaking to The Times, the editor-in-chief also described the Duchess as ‘very much her own person. 

‘The brilliant thing about the duchess is she’s not who or what you want her to be,’ Enninful said. ‘She’s very much her own person, which is what I love.’

Enninful described how he spent nine months working in secrecy with the royal and a ‘skeleton staff’ from the magazine, travelling to Kensington Palace for meetings and speaking to Meghan via Skype once she moved to Frogmore Cottage, Windsor. 

The editor told how the royal was in complete control of the process, saying she had a ‘journalistic sort of mind’ – but was adamant that she wanted to remain behind the scenes.

‘The fact that she didn’t want to take away from these women by being on the cover was a real testament to how much she believes,’ he continued. ‘Really, most people would have just jumped on it.’ 

The Duchess of Sussex hand-picked 15 ‘game-changers’ to feature on the front cover of the September issue, alongside an empty mirrored square to put readers in the spotlight. 

In her editor’s letter, published on the magazine’s website, Meghan said she hopes she has created a magazine of ‘positivity, kindness, humour and inclusivity’.

She claims in the missive that she set out to produce a publication of ‘both substance and levity’ with its editor in chief Edward Enninful, who revealed the duchess thought it would be ‘boastful’ to be the magazine’s cover star herself.

The Duchess also warned that although her guiding hand will be felt on most pages of next month’s edition, it will contain traditional elements like adverts.

She writes in her guest editor’s letter how just a few hours after meeting Enninful she summoned up the nerve to quiz him about taking on the September edition – an important issue as it is published just before the autumn/winter fashion season.
