Pano Christou, chief executive of Pret A Manger, said: “As the UK emerges from lockdown, this partnership with Tesco is one way in which we’re transforming our business model to adjust to a new way of living and working. We look forward to working with the Tesco team on this partnership.”
Pret has already rolled its products out onto supermarket shelves.
Mr Christou claims these ranges “have already exceeded targets”.
The first of the Tesco branches will open in Kensington, London, in June.
Later in the summer, three more shops will open across the UK.
Fans discussed the news on Twitter. Some were more optimistic than others.

“Looking forward to grabbing my first Pret Finest crayfish and rocket sandwich as I stock up on Tesco gin,” one wrote.
Another said: “Interesting pivot by @Pret.
“It’s to open stores in Tesco supermarkets…shifting reliance away from the commuter #economy.
“So you go in for your shop, then have a coffee and a croissant afters?”

But another said: “Well this is not going to work, Tesco won’t want them competing with their own range of meal deals, which no doubt will be a lot cheaper anyway.”
“They charge too much,” another said.
One added: “Half the stuff you can buy in @Pret is significantly cheaper in @Tesco (croissants, canned drinks, etc) so they’re going to have to keep it narrow. Slight brand dilution – Pret seems more Waitrose to me – but huge new market.”
This is not the latest big move Pret has made recently. It unveiled a coffee subscription service last year, offering five drinks a day for £20 a month.
Pret a Manger’s spring menu has also been unveiled today.
Three new items have been added to the popular high street cafe’s menu.
New additions include Falafel, Avocado and Chipotle Flatbread and Chicken Pesto and Rocket Flatbread.
Pret is adding new salad bowls in addition to its existing range.
Customers can order the Roasted Chickpeas, Mozzarella and Pesto Salad Bowl at £5.50 a bowl.
The chef special this season is the Chipotle Chicken Baguette, with red tapenade, chargrilled pepper, feta and fresh rocket.
Customers can pick up ready-made platters including the Humous & Crudites Platter, Smoked Salmon & Avo Platter, or Ploughman’s Platter. Prices for platters start from £7.29 up.
An organic Cold Brew coffee is new to the menu and will be available on Pret’s coffee subscription.
The chain is adding three new snack options to the subscription – Popcorn bar, Nut bar and Coconut bar.
