Shoppers spot baffling erotic novel about Clippy the Microsoft paperclip online

Online shoppers were shocked to find an unusual Amazon listing of an erotic novel featuring Clippy the Microsoft paperclip.

Anyone who used computers in the 2000s will remember the cheery – and annoying – little assistant who helped when you needed it.

But, while most of us think of Clippy with nostalgia it seems some people experience a different emotion.

Posting on Reddit, a surprised shopper said: “Erotic novel about Clippy, the Microsoft Office assistant.”

And, hundreds liked the chuckle-worthy find.

The book, “Conquered by Clippy: An Erotic Short Story” by Leonard Delaney costs $2.77 (£1.99).

And, the description reads: “Christie Aackerlund doesn’t need help with anything.

“So when the world’s biggest technology company offers to fly her to a remote location and investigate an alien artifact, all by herself, she’s all like ‘I’ll do it!’

“But the artifact isn’t what it seems, and soon an overly helpful giant living paperclip is getting her all bent out of shape.

“Conquered by Clippy is a 4000 word short story featuring sexual situations with digital assistants. It’s for super mature audiences only.”

And, oddly, the novella is rated four and a half out of five stars with 33 ratings.

One review said: “The writing is better than you'd think.

‘The story is very short, but the writing is good – the author actually has talent as well as a terrific sense of humour.”

Another said: “OMG.

“For those of us who grew up with Clippy … man, we never knew he was so HARDCORE!”

While a fan added: “Not gonna lie, this was only the second erotic novel I've read, but if most are like this then I am about to become quite the enthusiast.”

Over on Reddit, people were rolling around laughing.

A Jokester said: “All the reviews are positive, I'm kind of curious.

"I mean, it wouldn't be the most embarrassing thing to which I've masturbated.”
