A recent study revealed the exercise and sleep routines Queen Elizabeth follows may be the reason why she managed to be the longest-lived monarch and stay fit and healthy all these years.

Sleep and wellbeing experts analysed online trends and revealed the Queen’s sleep and exercise routine is searched 136 percent more than other royals.

After 95 years and an apparent healthy life, many wonder what’s Her Majesty’s secret.

In fact, the research said she has the most popular royal sleep and exercise routine beating Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle.

But what are the Queen’s healthy lifestyle habits?

Wellbeing experts said sleep and exercise routines can actually improve one’s health.

The Queen has a very active lifestyle and a healthy sleep routine.

She reportedly sleeps eight and a half hours every day, which is the average sleep an adult should be getting every night.

Going to bed at the same time every day also has a positive effect as it trains the body to feel automatically sleepy as bedtime approaches, ensuring a better night’s sleep.

It is reported the Queen retires at 11pm every night.

In terms of diets, the Her Majesty prefers simple, light and protein-filled meals, which are also a good enhancer of sleep.

The Queen consumes a lot of fish and vegetables following a healthy and balanced diet.

Daily exercise in the form of walking is something Her Majesty practices every day and it is also a useful method of releasing endorphins, which can lead to a better night’s sleep.

In the book ‘Long Live the Queen: 23 Rules for Living as Britain’s Longest-Living Reigning Monarch’, expert Bryan Kozlowski explained these habits have contributed to the monarch longevity.

Kozlowski explained: “A lot of people tend to think that longevity requires a very rigorous exercise routine.”

However, Queen Elizabeth II is a fan of “sensible exercise”.

The Queen continues to practice some of her favourite hobbies such as horse riding and brisk walks with her corgis.

Recreating Her Majesty’s healthy routine is easy, and Britons can simply make sure they go to bed at the same time every night and sleep at least eight hours, follow a healthy diet and practise exercise regularly.

An expert from explained: “The Queen’s habit of going to bed and waking up at the same time is consistent with a healthy sleep cycle.

“Keeping a regular sleep routine allows the body to follow a circadian rhythm, where it responds to regular patterns of light and darkness, allowing for better quality sleep.”
