The top micro trends set to dominate Instagram in 2019 have been unveiled, and some of them aren’t for the faint-hearted.

In a report by fashion site Who What Wear, experts predict the comeback of nineties neon and even tie-dye.

Elsewhere, the Bohemian-influenced trends of prairie dresses and fringed accessories will also enjoy a resurrection.

And a less surprising craze that has emerged is ‘Old Céline’, with fans of designer Phoebe Philo rushing to invest in her designs following her final Pre-Fall 2018 collection as the creative director of the brand.

Meanwhile sports chic still rules, with biker shorts and racer back vests staying firmly in style, while a more preppy and polished look will emerge with statement headbands.

In a roundup of micro trends predicted to emerge in 2019, nineties neon will be making a comeback among fashion houses including Prada. This year the high-vis style was heavily championed by Kim Kardashian, who rocked a bubblegum pink dress last month, and Kylie Jenner, who wore a bright yellow latex dress just weeks ago

Heading back over from California is nineties tie-dye, with houses including Chanel releasing the hippie-chic sweatshirts. Beyonce, Paris Jackson and Justin Bieber have all been seen rocking the nostalgic trend this year

Continuing the Bohemian theme of the ‘year of the dress’, prairie dresses are set to dominate our Instagram feeds next year. The high neck, often bell sleeved and frill-hemmed frocks flatter every body shape, with brands including Ulla Johnson releasing designs

Meanwhile the hashtag ‘Old Celine’ will be doing the rounds, with proud owners of pieces from creative director Phoebe Philo’s final collection sharing their wares. Resale site The Real Real announced a 45 per cent increase in searches for her designs on the day she announced her departure

Fringed bags are also set to be big in 2019, with Who What Wear describing designer Jacquemus’  XXL beach bags with dramatic fringing for spring summer 2019 as ‘cult buys for next year’

And amid the sports luxe looks and hippie-inspired ensembles, a more preppy look has emerged, in the form of statement headbands. Head designer of Prada and founder of Miu Miu, Miuccia Bianchi Prada has created ‘exaggerated’ headbands for the spring which the fashion site say could go viral

A slightly more controversial trend which is refusing to depart is cycle shorts, which promise to be bigger than ever in the new year, with Fendi and Chanel including them in their SS19 collections

And continuing the sports luxe trend, tank tops and racer vests will also reign supreme, completing the casual-chic style of 2019, among the top micro trends to emerge on Instagram next year
