Top 40 baby names predicted to be popular in the next decade – from Troy to Nola

The popularity of certain baby names comes and goes across the decades – some are quite steadily used while others trend in pockets.

Many brits have noticed the rise of vintage names in recent years, but what is in store for the next 10?

Pregnancy company Bounty has predicted those names they think will blow up in the 2020’s.

A spokesman said: “Having assessed over 300,000 names for the stand-out highest climbers over the last 12 months we can predict which exactly which name trends are set to take off.

“This is because, outside of official birth registration lists (which are published 18 months behind) ours is the largest, most up-to-date baby names list in the UK – making it guaranteed to bring you the latest trends in baby names.”

Many of the names thought to be ready for a resurgence are elegant and classy, too.

While there won’t be many Garys or Emmas around the trend is for classic, old-fashioned names many which have historical or literary connections.

And some, of course, come from current pop culture!
