OLIVIER GIROUD has jumped to the defence of former Arsenal team-mate Laurent Koscielny.

He said: “I feel very sad for him because he’s a great person and the media wants to give a bad image of him.

“I’m not at the club, I don’t know what really happened – but one thing for sure is Lolo is very hurt by what’s happening and he’s an emotional person.

“You cannot make a judgement when you don't have all the clues. I'm pretty sure we don't know everything in this situation.”

JOSH KROENKE says he has been left hurt and upset by accusations from Arsenal fans that he does not care about their club.

The son of billionaire owner Stan Kroenke has issued a passionate defence of his family’s commitment to the team they acquired as sole owners last year.

In a broad ranging interview he told SunSport: “It absolutely hurts when the fans question my passion.

“Of course it’s hard to take and it does hit you when wake up at four in the morning to read a letter like this.

“But I’m not in this business to make friends. I’m in it to win while respecting the values and traditions of Arsenal Football Club.”

    HERE'S more on Arsenal's deal for Ceballos…

Aesenal are closing in on sealing a loan deal for Real Madrid star Dani Ceballos, according to reports in Spain.

The 22-year-old has been considered surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu and the Gunners are set to win the race for his signature over rivals Tottenham.

Both clubs were told by Los Blancos that they will have to stump up £45million if they want the Spaniard permanently.

But Arsenal are now “one step away” from landing Ceballos on loan after he agreed on a switch to the Premier League, according to AS.

The report adds that Unai Emery played a huge role in steering the midfielder to the red side of North London.

Real are expected to include an option to buy in the season-long deal, which would benefit the cash-strapped Gunners in prioritising funds elsewhere.

Ceballos is currently away on holiday after being given an extended break having helped Spain lift the European Under-21 Championship – where he was named player of the tournament.

DANI CEBALLOS is closing in on his move to Arsenal, according to Marca.

The Gunners have been locked in a battle with Tottenham for his signature.

But the Spanish publication claim that Unai Emery is the main reason why he will play at the Emirates next season.

EXCLUSIVE: DANI ALVES is prepared to take a pay cut to join Arsenal – but still wants £200k-a-week wages.

The 36-year-old is a free agent after leaving Paris Saint-Germain last month.

He has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League with the Gunners, Man City and Tottenham all keen on the Brazilian.

But Sun Sport understands a move to the Emirates for a reunion with Unai Emery appeals most to the Samba star.

City appeared to be the favourites but they are not in the market for a right-back unless Danilo, who has gone on pre-season tour with Pep Guardiola’s squad, asks to leave.

They are unwilling to force him out, and even if he does depart, then Juventus’ Joao Cancelo will become their top target for a replacement.
