Arsenal are reportedly keen on snapping up highly-rated teenage midfielder Noah Francoise.

Foot Mercato claims the Rennes prodigy, 16, has caught the eye of Mikel Arteta after some fine performances in this season’s UEFA Youth League.

Françoise score once in five games as Rennes remarkably reached the quarter-finals of the competition.

And he has been rewarded for his form with call-ups to France’s U16 and U17 sides.

Despite making a name for himself at Rennes, Francoise is yet to sign a professional contract with the Ligue 1 outfit.

And that has apparently opened the door for Arsenal to make a move.

However, they are said to face stiff competition from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain and Spanish giants Sevilla.

Premier League and EFL clubs could be hit with a transfer ban if they haven't paid back players who defer wages during the coronavirus crisis, according to reports.

It is deemed unfair for sides to be able to add to their wage bill when players already in the squads are yet to be reimbursed.

According to The Times, talks have already begun within the EFL board to discuss the matter after it was raised by the PFA.

The report also adds that any money received from transfer fees of sold players should first be given to the players who agreed to the deferrals.

Southampton and West Ham were the first Premier League clubs to agree to reduce some of their pay for a temporary period as the financial struggles from Covid-19 take their toll.

Arsenal and Chelsea are among the other sides closing in on an agreement to adjust their players' wages.

Cesc Fabregas has revealed he would love to coach in a Twitter Q&A.

The former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder has increased speculation he could return to Arsenal to earn his stripes as a coach under Mikel Arteta.

Pablo Mari says he hopes to stay at Arsenal for many years – and become a Premier League legend like his Gunners team-mate David Luiz.

The Spanish centre-back joined the North Londoners on loan from Brazilian club Flamengo in January – with a view to a £13.5million permanent switch.

He said: “I’ve been at five clubs over the last four years. This is a footballer’s life. If you want to play football and you want to improve then every year you need to move.

“Maybe when you find a club that is good for you, then you can stay and improve with that club.

“I have found myself here at Arsenal. It is a really good option for me.

“I want to stay here and improve as a player and a person. I want to be here for many more years.”

Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele is reportedly interesting United and Arsenal but a bid is being held back by injury concerns.

Despite costing an initial £92million back in 2017, Dembele is said to be among those available for the right fee.

For that price, a return of just 19 goals in 72 games across almost three full seasons has led to the Frenchman being labelled a serious flop.

Nevertheless, at 22 he still holds plenty of potential and Spanish newspaper Sport detail how United and Arsenal are weighing up an offer.

Both clubs are reportedly investigating Dembele's rocky injury history to determine whether it is down to bad luck, Barcelona's mismanagement, or a more deep-rooted problem affecting the player, who has missed 26 games this season.

Hamstring injuries have become a common problem for the forward and, following surgery, he is expected to miss the rest of the season even though it is to last further into the summer due to the coronavirus pandemic.
