MANCHESTER UNITED and Tottenham have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti, according to reports.
The French star, 26, has featured just seven times for the Catalan giants this season.
He has struggled with a foot injury and knee problems but even when available has often been overlooked by Ernesto Valverde in favour of Clement Lenglet to play alongside Gerard Pique.
And it is now thought Barca would be open to the idea of selling the centre-back, especially with 20-year-old Jean-Clair Todibo waiting in the wings to take his chance.
According to El Desmarque, the three Premier League clubs are all interested in making a move for Umtiti to bolster their back lines.
Manchester United suffered a blow with Harry Maguire tearing a hip muscle while Eric Bailly and Axel Tuanzebe are also currently unavailable for first-team action.
The agent of Barcelona right-back Nelson Semedo has 'approved' a move to Spurs.
Spanish publication El Desmarque report, however, that the clubs are apart in their valuation of the 26-year-old.
Semedo has slipped down the pecking order at the Nou Camp this season, starting just 11 matches.
EXCLUSIVE by Charlie Wyett: SPURS are set to step up their bid to land Krzysztof Piatek from AC Milan.
The Poland striker looks certain to leave the San Siro this month with a host of Prem clubs interested.
But Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, desperate to bring in a new striker due to Harry Kane’s hamstring injury, is looking to open talks with the Italian club.
Milan are insisting they will not allow Piatek, 24, to leave for less than £23million.
Aston Villa, Newcastle and Crystal Palace also keen.
But Spurs are in a better position to land the striker who joined from Genoa for £30m a year ago, yet has just four goals this season.
Piatek is keen to move after Milan re-signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic but says he will only join a club of similar size.
LEYTON ORIENT boss George Marsh believes George Marsh has developed well since joining on loan from Spurs in the summer.
He said: “With George, he’s developed really well in what has been his first loan period.
“I think sometimes when lads come out on loan from Premier League clubs the first one can be a bit of a nothing loan for them, but George hasn’t done that, he’s taken the opportunity really well.
“He didn’t get in the team straight away but he showed real professionalism and maturity to play his way into the team and now that he’s got in I think he’s put in some really good performances so I’m delighted to have him again for the second half of the season.”
