ARSENAL have reportedly agreed a £6.5million move for Brazilian winger Gabriel Martinelli from Ituano.
The 17-year-old, who recently had a trial at Manchester United, has allegedly travelled to Europe to finalise the deal.
According to UOL, the skilful star will complete his move to the Emirates when he turns 18 in June.
Martinelli is allegedly close to obtaining an Italian passport – which would rule out the need for him to obtain a British work permit.
The youngster had also been linked to Barcelona and a number of clubs in Brazil – including Flamengo, Cruzeiro and Santos.
UOL claim the player's agent offered him to a number of clubs in the Premier League, but Arsenal indicated the most interest.
Ituano have been keen to keep hold of their star man since he made his senior debut last year.
And he earned rave reviews as he scored six goals and made three assists in the Campeonato Paulista.
Following his sublime spell of form, Arsenal sent scouts to watch him during the 3-2 defeat to Palmeiras in February.
Unai Emery has admitted his desire to bolster his midfield this summer and he has planned to make five signings.
But the Spaniard could only have £40m to spend if his side do not secure Champions League football next season.
Arsenal have also been linked to Lille winger Pepe, who is being chased by Liverpool and Chelsea.
