The Liverpool brawler lost consecutive welterweight showdowns – against Tyron Woodley for the title and then against Jorge Masvidal – before finally moving up a division.

Till had long flirted with a move up to 185lbs and announced his switch to middleweight this month.

The Brit will face Kelvin Gastelum at Madison Square Garden on November 2 in New York City.

Gastelum was beaten on points by Israel Adesanya at UFC 236 in April for the interim middleweight title.

Till has not won since outpointing Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson in Liverpool in May 2018.

The 26-year-old revealed he has “cleaned up” his nutrition as well as began lifting weights ahead of his move to middleweight.

He told MMA Fighting: “As I’ve said, the only thing I’m doing is cracking on with my training.

“I’m training very hard and I’ve started doing a few extra things. I’ve implemented a lot of swimming into my game.

“I’ve been lifting a little bit of weights and I’ve put on some size and I’m trying to clean up the nutrition.”
