FORMER boxing world title challenger Eloy Perez has died at the age of just 32.
The American last fought in 2012 when he fell to a KO defeat to Adrien Broner for the WBO super-featherweight belt.
It was revealed after that fight that Perez had failed a drugs test for cocaine.
The Californian finished with a record of 26 fights – 23 wins, one loss and two draws.
The cause of death has not been revealed at the time of writing.
As the news broke, boxing fans paid tribute to Perez on social media.
Stan Martyniouk wrote: "Not sure what happened but heard the sad news prayers to him and his family."
Javier Orsonio posted: "Dude RIP Eloy Perez that s***s crazy."
And Ivan Iverson added: "Condolences to Eloy Perez's family and friends."
