Ex-UFC star Jeremy Stephens forced to shave hair and beard off to make weight after going over on scales | The Sun

FORMER UFC star Jeremy Stephens was forced to shave his hair and beard off to make weight after he was caught stepping over the scales.

The 36-year-old American is set to take on Myles Price at Friday’s PFL event in Atlanta.

But a social media controversy caught the eye earlier on in the day when a picture emerged of him hanging his foot off the scales as he weighed in.

It was initially not spotted by those administering the weigh-in, with Stephens coming in at 156lbs.

This is the optimum limit for a lightweight bout as the weight class is 155lbs, plus a one-pound allowance for non-title fights.

However, the image of his foot over the scales then began circulating.

This subsequently led to Stephens being called back to weigh in once more.

And this time he returned to the scales with a much-different look.

In order to ensure he did not exceed the 156lb threshold, the MMA man shaved all the hair off his head and beard.

He also stripped down completely naked and was forced to step onto the scales with a towel obscuring the bottom half of his body.

He then successfully made the weight legitimately, albeit with less hair.

Stephens, who has a professional MMA record consisting of 28 wins and 20 losses, made his PFL debut back in April, losing to Clay Collard by unanimous decision.

His final UFC bout came in July last year when Mateusz Gamrot made him submit in the first round – his sixth successive fight without a win.
