Gonzalo Higuain not joining Chelsea according to AC Milan sporting director Leonardo

CHELSEA have not made a move for AC Milan ace Gonzalo Higuain to replace misfiring Alvaro Morata.

Critics are sure the lack of a genuine goalscorer is the last piece of the jigsaw missing for Maurizio Sarri's side as the Spaniard has flopped since swapping Real Madrid for Stamford Bridge.

Eden Hazard has been used as an auxiliary striker but has admitted to preferring a deeper role.

And the Blues are expected to land a master marksman in the upcoming January window.

But 30-year-old Higuain is not on the agenda, according to AC sporting director Leonardo, who has him on loan for the season.

He said: “We haven’t received any offer from Chelsea – no one has asked us for him and he didn’t ask to leave.

“Anyway, at AC Milan we keep only the players who want to stay here.

“It is difficult to manage a striker when he doesn’t score.

“Higuain must find the real himself, he is living in a different situation for him, he left Juventus and he is here on loan.

“He is very important for us and he knows it.”
