PEP GUARDIOLA admits he wishes Manchester City had not hit Chelsea for six as they prepare for a Wembley rematch.
The champions took Maurizio Sarri's men to the cleaners in a Premier League game at the Etihad two weeks ago.
But he now fears there could be a backlash from the Blues when they meet in the Carabao Cup final.
Guardiola said: “In that moment I was so happy to beat them.
“But now I would prefer not to have beaten them 6-0.
“I don't like to play in a short period of time when you've beaten them so much.
“They are incredible professional players, they are proud, they will do an extra.
“When we lost 2-0 at Stamford Bridge, you cannot expect the defeat home, but it's what it is.
