KYLIAN MBAPPE has handed Paris Saint-Germain a fitness scare ahead of their crucial clash against Borussia Dortmund after missing training through illness.

The French champions host the Bundesliga side in a crucial behind closed doors Champions League contest on Wednesday looking to overturn a 2-1 deficit.

Supporters have been banned from entering the stadium to help prevent the spread of coronavirus that continues to impact sporting events worldwide.

But PSG will be hoping Mbappe will make it after being forced to miss training on Monday.

According to Goal, the 21-year-old superstar was struck down with sickness and a soar throat and is now in a race against the clock to be fit for the contest.

Mbappe's absence would be a huge blow to their chances having been instrumental throughout the campaign.

He has scored 23 goals in 26 appearances in Ligue 1 and Champions League this season including a hat-trick in their last outing – a 5-1 win at Lyon.

PSG have had an extra day to prepare for the clash after their league contest with Strasbourg was postponed because of coronavirus.

Boss Thomas Tuchel will have Edison Cavani and Neymar available which will see his job under serious threat should they get knocked out.

It was announced today that all games in the French top division are due to be played without fans, or a maximum of 1,000 supporters until April 15.
