Man City 0 Crystal Palace 2: Zaha and Gallagher stun Pep as 10-man City are beaten after red card and VAR controversy

WILFRIED ZAHA and Conor Gallagher starred as Crystal Palace beat ten-man Manchester City 2-0 at the Etihad.

The result leaves the Citizens trailing Premier League leaders Chelsea by five points after suffering their first defeat since the opening weekend of the season.

The Eagles took the lead early on through Zaha who slotted his effort into the bottom left corner after being played through by Conor Gallagher.

Things got worse for City in first-half stoppage time after Aymeric Laporte was sent off for hauling down Zaha as he raced clear on goal.

And home fans were left furious after Gabriel Jesus' equaliser in the second half was overturned by VAR due to Phil Foden being offside in the build-up.

Gallagher then wrapped up the three points late on after smashing his effort into the top corner following a lethal counter-attack.
