Maurizio Sarri out to exploit Chelsea's 30-plus contract policy with Lazio transfer bid for midfielder Jorginho

MAURIZIO SARRI is keen to reunite with Chelsea midfielder Jorginho, according to reports.

Jorginho is unlikely to sign a new deal with the Blues when his current one expires next year.

The midfield ace, who made the move to West London from Napoli in 2018, is keen on a return to Serie A when his Chelsea career is over.

And he may be sold as early as this summer, with clubs such as Juventus, AC Milan and Inter Milan all interested.

But according to football news outlet 90min, Lazio are currently leading the race for the 30-year-old, with Sarri eager to coach him again.

The pair originally worked together at Napoli before Sarri brought him to the Blues when he was appointed in 2018.

Jorginho has since made over 180 club appearances and scored 26 goals.

But he is not the only Chelsea player that Sarri is targetting.

The Italian is also open to the idea of bringing Ruben Loftus-Cheek to Lazio, with the midfielder falling out of favour with Thomas Tuchel.

Kepa is another name on the transfer list, along with Blues winger Callum Hudson-Odoi.

90min have also suggested that Chelsea are not considering contract renewals for Jorginho or N'Golo Kante due to their age.

This means that both players will have to be sold this summer if the Blues want a good sum of cash in return.

Chelsea are already at risk of losing some of their key players.

Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta are both on the verge of a move to Barcelona this summer.

Antonio Rudiger is also set to leave, with the likes of Man Utd and Real Madrid interested.
