Giants star Saquon Barkley was spotted Wednesday for the first time since suffering a season-ending torn ACL on Sunday in Chicago, using crutches while wearing a brace on his injured right knee.
Barkley was leaving the Giants’ training facility in East Rutherford as the team practiced ahead of their Week 3 game against the 49ers at MetLife Stadium. Barkley was assisted by a Giants staffer, who held the 23-year-old’s crutches as he entered a car in front of the facility.
The running back made a big statement on Instagram after getting hurt, writing, “Gonna be a hell of a story,” as he hopes to rebound in 2021.
It usually takes athletes a year to recover from an ACL tear, though fellow star running back Adrian Peterson made his comeback within eight months to win MVP in 2012.
