Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has confirmed that Alan Tudyk will be back as K-2SO in the Cassian Andor live-action Star Wars series coming to Disney+.
Lucasfilm announced the news today alongside the reveal that Disney+ will be released on November 12, 2019, for $6.99/month and $69.99/year.
Tudyk both voiced and performed motion-capture for K-2SO in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and he will return for this prequel series that will focus on “the adventures of rebel spy Cassian Andor during the formative years of the Rebellion and prior to the events of Rogue One.”
Diego Luna will also be returning as Cassian Andor and while there is still no release date for the series, Lucasfilm did confirm that The Americans’ Stephen Schiff will serve as showrunner and executive producer of this upcoming series.
This prequel series will join The Madalorian, which will be released with the launch of Disney+ and is another Star Wars series that will follow a warrior taking after Jango and Boba Fett following the fall of the Empire but before the “emergence of the First Order.”
In addition to these series and all the Star Wars movies arriving on Disney+, the streaming service will also be the home of the return of Star Wars: The Clone Wars with 12 new episodes to give the beloved series the ending it deserves.
