The Great British Bake Off returned with possibly its most iconic showstopper challenge to date – creating celebrity faces purely out of cake.
As the 12 potential hopefuls made their debut in the tent, the gang were eager to prove their worth to Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.
Creating cake busts of famous faces purely out of sponge, icing and edible decorations, the team sought inspiration from Hollywood through to historical faces in a bid to impress.
But running against the clock, the results of the challenge were… a little mixed, to say the least.
So… how many of these faces do you recognise?
Take your best guess, and then click on the image to reveal their true identities.
Last night saw the first baker to be sent away from the tent, with Loriea Campbell-Clarey becoming the first to say goodbye.
Loriea, who created the Miss Lou masterpiece, found herself coming under fire for overflavouring and overcooking her cakes, causing them to become too dry.
But the 27-year-old diagnostic radiographer admitted there was a plus side to her leaving – and was able to attend her nan’s funeral after being allowed to go home.
For this week’s cake week challenges, the group were asked to take on the classic Battenburg, a Pineapple upside down cake for the technical, before the bust showstopper.
The Great British Bake Off continues Tuesdays at 8pm on Channel 4.
