Betty White is 99 years old and three months away from 100 as fans demand she be provided 'national security'

BETTY White fans feel passionately that the actress should be protected as the beloved star approaches her 100th birthday.

America's original sweetheart will turn 100 in January and her followers are speaking out about their love and admiration for the star as she approaches the milestone.

Following a scare at the start of the pandemic where Betty began trending on Twitter, fans of the Golden Girls alum want to keep the star safe.

One admirer asked that the actress be wrapped in "bubble wrap" for protection.

They tweeted: "Betty White is 99 years old and 3 months away from 100; please provide her with national security protection and wrap her safely in bubble wrap; we love her."

Another fan posted: "When I grow up I want to be as cool and fabulous as Betty White. Happy Almost Birthday Queen!"

"Damn Betty White is beautiful inside and out." came another gushing tweet.

Another called Betty "our national treasure" while one person said she must be "protected at all costs."

Betty said in January that she's been “blessed with good health" and credited her good “sense of humor” as one of the things that keeps her going.

Fans became overwhelmingly concerned for the actress in March 2020 when the coronavirus pandemic kicked into high gear in the United States.

Betty began trending on social media, with fans wondering how she was doing.

Her rep quickly shared that the 98-year-old was "doing fine," and now almost two year's later, she’s gearing up to celebrate her 100th birthday.

Betty, who has been “extra careful” amid the Covid crisis, told People that she tries her best to keep things fun and light-hearted.

She explained to the outlet: ”I don't like the other side. The positive side is a lot more fun."

The Golden Girls legend believes age is nothing but a number for her as she continues to feel good and in high spitrits.

Betty shared: "I am blessed with good health, so turning 99 is no different than turning 98."

The Oak Park, Illinois native said that "a sense of humor” helps to keep her feeling young and energized.

"Don't take yourself too seriously,” she added. “You can lie to others — not that I would — but you cannot lie to yourself."

She doubled-down on those tips for a good life when asked for some more advice.

The Hot in Cleveland actress said: “Just looking at the positive side and not dwelling on the downside. Takes up too much energy being negative.

“Also having a good agent who keeps me busy all the time."
