BGT's Alesha Dixon reveals she was in 'floods of tears' when Diversity performed controversial BLM routine

BRITAIN's Got Talent Alesha Dixon reveals she was in 'floods of tears' when Diversity performed their Black Lives Matter routine.

The ITV talent show judge revealed she was touched and left extremely emotional by the dance, which has received more than 23,000 Ofcom complaints.

Alesha, 41, was left in floods of tears as she watched Diversity's raw performance, which addressed the issues of police brutality and racism in society.

She spoke to The Mirror and described the dance as a "poignant, beautiful and powerful display."

Alesha shared: "On the day of the performance, the camera didn’t actually pan to the judges and I was sitting there in floods of tears.

"I had this overwhelming feeling of ‘Wow I can’t believe I am watching this on BGT’. It felt really important."

The former Mis-Teeq band member praised Diversity member and stand-in judge Ashley Banjo, who has replaced Simon Cowell while he recovers from a back injury suffered falling off an electric bike.

Alesha gushed: "He is the perfect person to step in for Simon – and talk about making an impact on your first week!"

She is missing the music mogul on the judging panel however and revealed that Britain's Got Talent is planning a huge welcome back party when Simon returns.

She commented: "We are a family and I miss him so much. I was speaking to Lauren [Silverman, Simon’s partner] last night and she keeps me updated on him. He is doing really well and is on the road to recovery."

In her own response to the Diversity's BLM performance, Alesha blasted haters by telling them to "kiss my black a**".

The Diversity frontman shared an image of himself alongside boxer Anthony Joshua and Formula 1 racer Lewis Hamilton.

Underneath the pictures, it read: "Dear Joshua and Banjo and other Black public figures. We the Great British Public will only support you if you entertain us and do not say anything about racism."

Along with support from fellow celebs like Amanda Holden, Alesha replied: "They can kiss my black a**".
