BRAVE New World viewers have been left divided over its 'confusing' ending as an uprising ends in a mass bloodbath.
Sky's adaptation of Aldous Huxley's 1932 novel is set in a futuristic New London in 2540 where inhabitants take a 'perfect' drug called Soma, issued by the government to control them.
They live in a world where money, monogamy, privacy and family have been prohibited by the World State government, and casual sex is encouraged.
However, with all countries, there is a class system, and in New London, a lower class group called the Upsilons, who delegated chores such as litter picking and cleaning.
As the season goes on, the Upsilons begin to revolt, culminating in a bloody uprising.
They also destroy the supply of drugs which keep the inhabitants emotions stabilised, leading them to go mad and fight over the remaining pills.
With lots of other backstabbing and plotting going on in the finale, viewers couldn't help but get confused.
Taking to Twitter, one wrote: "Did anyone else watch #BraveNewWorld ? I’m fully confused over the ending. And since they didn’t even attempt to follow the book I have nothing to compare it to."
Another added: "Not sure about that ending #BraveNewWorld."
A third tweeted: "I enjoyed #BraveNewWorld but I really enjoyed Alden Ehrenreich’s character. Not sure I’m happy with the epsilon uprising at the end."
