CULT makeover show Changing Rooms could return after 16 years.
The TV show, remembered for some disastrous transformations, will move from BBC1 to Channel 4.
Bosses hope to sign up some of the original team, which included host Carol Smillie, now 58, and interior designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, 55.
A TV insider said: “Changing Rooms was something of a phenomenon, spawning a long line of copycat makeover shows and it still retains a cult following.
“Not only did it spawn a long line of copycat makeover shows, it still retains a cult following among a whole generation of fans.
“C4 execs would like to tap back into some of that telly magic and exploit the current nostalgia for bygone shows.”
Changing Rooms ran from 1996 to 2004.
Memorable moments included Laurence decorating a couple’s room in animal prints and a red carpet.
"But the distraught husband said it looked like “a whore’s palace”.
A C4 spokeswoman said: “We are exploring the idea, but nothing is confirmed.”
