Viewers know Sharon has been secretly working to free Harvey from prison by having Sam kidnapped and used to blackmail his dad Nick into forcing Leanne and Simon to change their evidence.

But her foster sister Jenny is onto her evil scheme – and with the news the Rovers is going up for sale when Jenny and husband Johnny split – viewers think they know who will buy it.

Fans think Sharon, who was revealed to be the aunt of evil drug dealer Harvey following her return, will set her sights on the pub.

Sharon is currently heavily involved in Harvey’s twisted scheme to track down Simon and Leanne, and make them pay for reporting him to the police.

One fan tweeted: “I can see Sharon acquiring the Rovers from Jenny!

“You heard it here first! She'd make a wicked landlady! Watch out Jenny!"

A second said: “I think Sharon [will buy the Rovers]. She will do it to stop Jenny from keeping it after she exposes her link to Harvey.”

Another added: "Would love to see Sharon own the rovers #corrie."

Actress Tracie also told The Sun how a long-term future could be in the offing for Sharon on the cobbles.

She “said: It's beyond my control. It's: 'Is she available? Do you want to stay? Do we want her?' There's all these factors coming into it.

“There are things, but they're talking. It's up to them. They've expressed that, yes, so it's one of those.

"If the public hate me and I'm the most hated person in Britain, then they might think: 'Actually nobody likes you Trace, so you're going'.

“I’d be fine with that because they know it's acting and all that. You just don't know how it moulds together, do you?"
