Coronation Street spoilers – Huge star from ANOTHER soap to join Corrie; plus EastEnders & Emmerdale theories and news

A HUGE soap actor from a classic British favourite is set to join the cast of Coronation Street, show bosses have confirmed.

Corrie bosses have revealed that former Brookside legend Simon O'Brien – who played Damon Grant in the C4 drama – has joined the cast of the ITV soap.

Simon will play the role of Frank Bardsley, a mysterious new love interest for one Weatherfield resident.

However, preliminary spoilers suggest he will then have a relationship with an entirely different cobbles character.

A tweet sent from the official Coronation Street account on Thursday read: "Welcome, the newest member of the team, Frank Bardsley, played by Simon O'Brien!

"Could love be in the air for a lucky someone on The Street?"

According to Digital Spy, Simon started filming his new scenes around two months ago.

His guest character Frank will be appearing on screen for the next couple of months.

    The ITV soap star told her Instagram followers she was it about to do up her their house’s master bedroom saying: “It would be nice as a couple to actually share a bed and not feel like flat mates.”

    Actors have been paying tribute to "star-maker" David Johnson who was the director of Oldham Theatre Workshop.

    Announcing his friend's passing, Antony Cotton tweeted: "Just heard the saddest news.

    "David Johnson who was the director of the phenomena that was Oldham Theatre Workshop, has died.

    "He put so many of us on the map, and kick started so many careers, both on stage and off.

    "So many of us owe him so much. I’m absolutely gutted. This is David Johnson. He formed my childhood so profoundly, and in turn – my adult life too.
