Preston midfielder Ryan was adamant they weren't going to have a quirky name though to stop their son being "ribbed" growing up.
The actress conceived Sonny after suffering a miscarriage and the devastating experience made her pregnancy all the more emotional.
She said: “It’s been a roller-coaster of high and low moments, with lots of tears along the way. When Sonny was finally born, we were both sobbing – but happy tears.”
Lucy and Ryan have been keeping fans up to date since then and even shared a picture from a recent trip to Tesco with the little one.
Speaking ahead of becoming a dad, Preston North End midfielder Ryan, 25, revealed he would definitely be missing a game if Lucy went into labour.
He told the Lancashire Post: “I'm one of them where there is more to life than football,”
“There are hundreds more games, you might never get another kid. I definitely won't be missing the birth of my child but if he's out and there's a game I'll make sure I'm at the game.”
The footy star added: “It's been hard for her, bloody hell. Any girl, they're absolute machines to go through what they have to go through.”
