Coronation Street's Underworld factory is soap's most deadly workplace – claiming 10 lives after a series of murders, accidents and fires

CORONATION Street's Underworld is officially Britain’s most dangerous workplace after Rana Habeeb perished in a roof collapse.

The factory has been cursed with a string of violent deaths and accidents in its blood-soaked 21-year history.

Fan site Corriepedia has chronicled the string of violent acts that have taken place in the soap’s knicker factory.

And one fan said on Twitter: "In its 21 years, Underworld has had 2 fires, 6 owners have perished, a body hid under the floor, people have died there, the roof pinched and its now collapsed!

"Carla really needs to consider a career change, there's a vacancy going for a nurse."

Founder of the knicker business Mike Baldwin died after a battle with Alzheimer's in 2006 in the arms of rival Ken Barlow on the factory steps.

In 2007, polish worker Kasia Barowicz died from falling down the stairs when Carla had her working double.

Later in the year, factory boss and Carla's husband Paul Connor died in a car crash.

A year later, his brother Liam was murdered by new factory owner Tony Gordon, who was engaged to Paul's widow Carla.

Tony also attempted to kill pensioner Jed Stone over the Christmas period of 2008, but had spared him and installed Jed in a flat in Wigan.

Tony perished in 2010 when he burned down the factory with Carla in it, although she escaped.

A month after the incident, John Stape buried his old work colleague Colin Fishwick under the factory floor after stealing his identity; the body was recovered a year later.

Carla's next business partner Frank Foster raped her, but was mysteriously found dead in the premises in March 2012 after conning the factory out of her.

It later emerged his own mother had offed him after discovering the truth of his horrifying crimes.

In June 2014, Carla's brother and business partner, Rob Donovan, murdered local barmaid Tina McIntyre and was sent to prison for his crimes.

And in May 2018, less than a month after acquiring Carla's 82% of the business as a gift, Aidan Connor committed suicide.

All was quiet on the factory floor until this year, when Rana died under a ton of rubble on her wedding day when the roof collapsed.

She died in new wife Kate Connor's arms after exchanging their vows in amongst the destruction.
