Corrie reveals Jan's big secret after slave trafficking bust

Coronation Street has revealed the true motives of mysterious builder Jan Loskinski (Piotr Baumann), who was seemingly involved in the slave and human trafficking network which victimised Alina Pop (Ruxandra Porojnicu) among other girls. Tonight, after the attack on Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni) led Eileen to the nail bar to confront Jan, he tried to get rid of her by claiming that he had lied and cheated.

However, Rachel and Nikolai were worried about how much she knew and despite Jan’s attempts to persuade them that Eileen had no knowledge of their criminal activities, Nikolai destroyed Eileen’s phone. Jan tried to defend her and Nikola came at him with a hammer. Seizing an opportunitiy to escape, Eileen punched Rachel to the side and darted for the door, only for armed police to burst in. Seb had called them from hospital and the members of the ring were arrested – including Jan.

In his cell, it soon emerged that, as many viewers had suspected, he had been working undercover as a police informant to break open the criminal rings and solicitor Paula Martin (Stirling Gallacher) arrived to congratulate him on the fact that his work had exposed far more than just what was going on in Weatherfield.

In a sad turn of events, it was clear that Jan does have feelings for Eileen as he was genuinely crushed not to be able to see her again as Paula told him that he would have to be relocated for his own safety. But does this mean that Alina will now be safe? And will Eileen learn the truth that Jan is a hero, rather than a villain?

It remains to be seen whether this is the last that will be seen of Jan but with Eileen later vowing to give up on men for good, is romance done for her following this ordeal?
