Corrie’s David attacks Nick with blade before shock murder blackmail

Coronation Street’s David Platt attacked Nick Tilsley with a razor blade in tonight’s show.

David managed to put the pieces together and worked out that his own brother was responsible for stealing Audrey’s £80,000 cash.

Cunning David worked out that Natalie, who was pretending to be Nick’s solicitor, was actually a waitress from Nottingham and his accomplice.

Dave phoned the police and watched the CCTV footage that confirmed Natalie had taken their gran’s money out at various cash points.

In a sly move, David offered to give Nick a wet shave, using the opportunity to grill his brother while holding a cut throat razor.

Nervous Nick batted away some awkward remarks as David started talking about the money thief.

David said: "He’ll trip up and when he does I’ll be there. It’ll be a short conversation when I do."

He started to probe further and spoke about their gran feeling "humiliated" after losing Archie’s savings.

Suddenly David cut Nick on the cheek and the scammer pushed his brother away.

Holding the razor to Nick’s throat, David said: "It was you wasn’t it? You took the money off gran."

Nick confessed he stole the money for Leanne as he was up to his eyes in debt because of ex-wife Elsa.

Turning the tables, Nick said: "I’m not proud of it, but you’ve done worse."

Nick insisted he would pay the money back to Audrey with interest and stormed off.

During a family meal at the Bistro, Nick took David for a private chat to threaten him with blackmail.

After David teased that he would broadcast Nick’s crimes, his brother threatened to go to Callum Logan’s family.

Viewers will remember that Kylie killed her ex after he attacked Sarah – and David helped dispose of the body under their extension.

David said Nick would never do that to Sarah and the kids, but Nick replied: "Try me. I’m done being nice. I just want Leanne."

Will David tell Audrey now?

Frustrated Corrie viewers took to Twitter to slam nasty Nick.

One viewer said: "Nick is getting more sinister and self serving with every episode. I honestly think he’ll be the one who torches the factory in March"

Another asked: "When did Nick become so nasty?"

A third added: "They always portray David to be the bad one but it’s always been Nick. I’ve never been a fan of Nick. Poor Audrey having a grandson like Nick. Poor David after everything he’s been through as well"

*Coronation Street continues on Friday on ITV at 7.30pm and 8.30pm
