Dan Walker got suited and booted to spend a day at the races after announcing his BBC Breakfast departure.
The popular presenter made the most of some downtime as he headed to The Grand National Ladies Day at Liverpool's famous Aintree racecourse.
Dan, 45, looked dapper in a blue three-piece suit as he headed to the annual event to mingle with fellow guests including football legend Sir Alex Ferguson.
He excitedly shared a photo of himself with the former Manchester United manager on his Instagram stories as he admitted he had sought some career advice from him.
He captioned the post: "Nice to catch up with the boss at Aintree Racecourse Jockey Club. He had some great career advice."
Dan announced his departure from BBC Breakfast on Monday (April 4) after six years in the role.
He will now be joining Channel 5 News as he embarks on an exciting new chapter in his broadcasting career.
He said: “Hello, Dan Walker here. I have a little bit of news for you.
"In the next few weeks, I’m going to be leaving BBC Breakfast and moving to 5 News and to Channel 5.
"I’m really excited, but this has also been a massive decision for me because I love BBC Breakfast. But Channel 5 came with big ambitions, with big plans, and I don’t think opportunities like this come around very often and I can’t wait."
Rumours of who may replace Dan on the BBC Breakfast sofa are already circulating – with GMB host Laura Tobin one potential presenter who is ready to fill his shoes.
Bookies have Morning Live presenter Gethin Jones and Dan's Strictly Come Dancing co-star AJ Odudu are current favourites to be offered the position.
Ladbrokes have Laura to join BBC Breakfast at 6/1 with The One Show host Jermaine Jenas at 9/2, Ade Adepitan at 11/2 and ITV star Vernon Kay at 11/1.
The BBC have yet to announce when Dan will make his final appearance departing the show.
