Escape to the Chateau season seven concluded before Christmas and it seems Channel 4 viewers will have to wait a few more months before it returns to the small screen. But, the stars of the show, Dick and Angel Strawbridge have some exciting news for fans, a spin-off show has been commissioned and they need the nation’s help to make it a great success. 

While Escape to the Chateau follows the former British Army Lieutenant Colonel and his interior designer wife transform a 19th-century french chateau into a business venture while also fulfilling a personal dream, Escape to the Chateau DIY saw several other couples sign up to a similar challenge. 

So how does Escape to the Chateau: Make Do & Mend differ? 

Dick is known for his ability to turn hard materials into something sculpturally beautiful, mending what seems irreparable and restoring antiques. 

Angel on the other hand is a dab hand a designing, sewing and creating exquisite visions.

With this in mind, the producers behind Escape to the Chateau have decided it is time to put Dick and Angel’s skills and experience to the test. 

Escape to the Chateau: Make Do & Mend will see the couple solve fans DIY dilemmas. 

Taking to Twitter to reveal the announcement, the tweet which was posted by @tehchateautv, read: “We have news! Dick and Angel are making a new series of Escape to the Chateau: Make Do & Mend and we need YOU! 

“Please share and help us spread the word far and wide – we can’t wait to help you with your Design & DIY dilemmas.”

Alongside it was a poster with more information: “Dick and Angel are back – to solve your Design and DIY dilemmas. 

“From crafty conundrums to entire room renovations and garden rescues, we want to hear from you!

“Are you stuck truing to bring a once loved family ‘heirloom’ back to life?
