'DWTS': What Is 'Cobra Kai' Star Martin Kove's Net Worth?

Season 30 of Dancing With the Stars is about to premiere and has an impressive list of celebrities hitting the ballroom. Cobra Kai star Martin Kove, 75, is this season’s most senior contestant and prepared by getting tips from his co-star and former DWTS semi-finalist Ralph Macchio.

Kove has a long list of television credits that began in the 1970s, and acquired an impressive financial portfolio thanks to his acting resume.

Martin Kove boasts a $2M net worth

Totaling a notable $2 million net worth, Kove became a familiar face on the small screen in iconic shows like Gunsmoke, Kojak, and The Rockford Files. The Cobra Kai star became a regular cast member on the CBS hit Cagney & Lacey, playing detective Victor Isbecki from 1981 to 1988.

Kove’s turn as John Kreese in the Karate Kid franchise led to other film roles including Steel Justice, Wyatt Earp, and Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood. The actor has over 200 acting credits to his name.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Kove is back in the spotlight with the popularity of Cobra Kai, reprising his role as the karate villain from the film trilogy. While he’s ranked as the oldest DWTS contestant for season 30, Kove’s physical condition appears to be in fighting shape from all that time in the dojo. Fans are confident he’s sure to give his fellow competitors a run for their money.

The roster for season 30 of DWTS is filled with some strong performers. Kove will have to execute more than a few karate kicks on the dance floor if he hopes to win the Mirrorball trophy. Contestants include Olympic star Suni Lee, The Office alum Melora Hardin, country singer Jimmie Allen, Spice Girls singer Melanie C (aka Sporty Spice), pro basketball player Iman Shumpert, The Talk co-host Amanda Kloots, WWE star Mike “The Miz” Mizanin, Dance Moms alum JoJo Siwa, YouTuber Olivia Jade Giannulli, Beverly Hills, 90210 alum Brian Austin Green, The Bachelor’s Matt James, and Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore. 

Several veteran dancing pros are returning for the landmark season 30, including Cheryl Burke, Witney Carson, Val Chmerkovskiy, Artem Chigvintsev, Sasha Farber, Sharna Burgess, Emma Slater, Gleb Savchenko, and Lindsay Arnold. Jenna Johnson, Brandon Armstrong, Britt Stewart, Alan Bersten, Pasha Pashkov, and Daniella Karagach will also be hitting the ballroom.

Len Goodman returns to the judges’ table this season, joining Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough. Tyra Banks takes on solo hosting duties once again.

Ralph Macchio gave Martin Kove some tips from ‘DWTS’

Kove’s venture into television’s most famous ballroom will be his first. He got some valuable advice from Cobra Kai co-star Macchio. The actor made it to the semi-finals in 2011 and gave Kove a heads-up on the need for stamina.

“Ralph told me how grueling being on the show is,” Kove said, according to TV Insider. “He said that it’s very physically demanding, but that I’ll have a good time and the people here will treat me well… Ralph also told me to be prepared for feeling exhausted. I do believe that being on this show is emotionally lucrative as well as physically lucrative.”

Season 30 of Dancing with the Stars premieres Monday, Sept. 20, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
