EastEnders boss teases murder twist with ‘killer blow’ as Keanu is exposed

EastEnders boss Kate Oates has teased a major murder twist during the explosive Christmas episode.

Sharon Mitchell and Keanu Taylor's worlds will come crashing down as their affair and baby bombshell is finally exposed.

One member of the Mitchell family will get their horrifying revenge on the pair – but the BBC's Head of Continuing Drama had confessed there's a big surprise with the "killer blow".

And Kate insists EastEnders viewers are in for a treat as it is the best Christmas Day episode she has ever read.

"You learn if you cross one Mitchell you cross them all, so there's a little bit of a twist in there to who's gonna deliver the killer blow," Kate told Mirror Online.

"So what we've got is a classic EastEnders Christmas, a combination of stories that have built up.

"Martin's journey to the dark side as he develops his relationship with Ben which has taken him in various ways. Phil finding out the truth.

"Ben having made this massive sacrifice with Callum to take the side of his father. Louise coming to terms with what's been under her nose this whole time.

The Sheanu storyline takes centre stage on Christmas Day – but there are tonnes of others that will get viewers excited.

Kate explained: "We see what happens to the Carters as Linda descends further into alcoholism, but with the return of Lee, both Mick and Linda are forced to see the situation with fresh eyes and are both forced to confront how far she has fallen.

"We find out who the other man is in Sheree's life which is a new story for the Truemans.

"We have some great comedy with the Slaters who take on the Panesars as well, there's a little twist."

Kate believes the Christmas Day episode will be up there with epics such as Max and Stacey's affair being exposed in a wedding video and Den hading Angie those divorce papers.

She added: "I’ve been in this business for a while now, and once we’d got that document I said ‘I think it’s the best Christmas I’ve ever read’ and I really really meant that, so I’m really really excited by it, and the story team have done an amazing job and should be applauded for it.

"I think we put pressure on ourselves because EastEnders Christmas is up there with all the great Christmas traditions of sprouts and family annihilation and all that kind of stuff. We know when we need it to be really strong."
