EastEnders Chantelle Atkins ‘to exit soap’ after Gray and Whitney affair twist

EastEnders ' Chantelle Atkins (Jessica Plummer) looks like she is about to leave Albert Square after realising her abusive husband Gray Atkins (Toby Alexander) has become violent once again.

EastEnders spoilers have hinted that Gray is also set to have an affair with Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) after trying to help stay out of prison for killing Leo King.

As the pair have grown closer over recent weeks, he has become more violent with Chantelle, seriously bruising her after brutally attacking her.

Fans have been predicting that Gray and Whitney are set to have an affair behind Chantelle's back, noticing Whitney seems to have grown feelings for him.

After their conversation earlier this week, fans took to social media to worry the pair are about to get together, devastating Chantelle.

One posted: "You can tell Whitney is already starting to idolise Gray, calling him a hero and thinking that he’s rescued her… it doesn’t look good."

Another added: "I have a suspicion that Gray & Whitney are going to have an affair/one night thing."

Meanwhile, it looks like Chantelle is trying to plot her escape from her terrifying husband, and her mum Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) is going to give her the perfect excuse.

Earlier this week, she told her family that it looks like she will have to leave Walford if she is going to look after her grandson Kayden.

Ian Beale told her that she needed to leave if she wanted to be his guardian, as he was looking out the baby's mum Sharon Mitchell.

Realising that if she doesn't move, her grandson will go into care, and Karen told her family that it looked like she was going to have to leave.

Chantelle asked her: "You’re going to do it, aren’t you, you’re going to move?"
