EastEnders’ Letitia Dean admits ‘anxiety’ over going back to ‘ghost town’ set to film after lockdown – The Sun

EASTENDERS star Letitia Dean admitted she had "anxiety" about returning to filming after lockdown.

The actress, 52, said it was "weird" going back to the "ghost town" set to shoot Secrets from the Square.

Letitia told Woman's Own magazine: "Doing Secrets from the Square with Stacey Dooley was really great.

"It was weird because it was like a ghost town, but I'm glad I did it because I had anxiety about going back in."

The soap star, who plays Sharon Mitchell on EastEnders, said lockdown felt like "a bit of a holiday" at first, but later grew "difficult".

She also struggled to communicate with friends because she had "the fear" about doing Zoom calls.

Letitia added that her elderly parents – who live with her – found the situation "scary" and were "nervous" about contracting the virus.

She also revealed being in lockdown will be addressed in EastEnders.

"Sharon, Ian and baby Kayden have been living there in their own little bubble and, slowly, things are getting back to normal," Letitia dished.

"There aren't that many people allowed in The Vic, so it's given me some space to find my feet again. I love working with Adam [Woodyatt]."

EastEnders will officially return to screens on Monday, September 7.

From then on, the soap will be airing four nights a week at the slightly shorter length of twenty minutes.

The soap’s finale on June 16 ended with some whopping cliffhangers after being forced off air due to the pandemic.

Fans were left speechless as Sharon Mitchell and Ian Beale swooped in to buy the Queen Vic, leaving Sharon's ex-husband and prospective buyer Phil Mitchell raging and setting the scene nicely for the soap’s famous doof doof theme tune.
