EastEnders reveals first look at Sean Slater's return after 10 years away from the Square as he's reunited with sister Stacey

EASTENDERS bosses have unveiled the first-look at actor Rob Kazinsky's long-awaited return as Sean Slater.

Returning to Albert Square after a 10-year absence, Sean seems to be making a big impression on the residents and can be seen punching Jack Branning.

In the teaser clip, Stacey Slater can be seen ranting: "He's not just going to walk in the pub and go 'oh, hello mum!'"

With perfect timing, a brooding Sean bursts through the doors of The Queen Vic pub.

Sean's return comes after mum Jean Slater is diagnosed with ovarian cancer, with one of her wishes being a family reunion.

Viewers have already seen Stacey try to contact her brother, but to no success.

The 35-year-old actor starred in the BBC soap for three years from 2006 to 2009 as Stacey’s brother, and it has now been revealed that a decade on from his last appearance, he will be making a return to Albert Square for a “short stint”.

Teasing what is in store following the news of his return, he said: “Happy to be back, I have a short break between projects and Kate Oates is a superstar.

“It’s something I always wanted to do to say thank you to Sean and the show, and we have worked to fit it in in the most explosive way. I think you’ll be… entertained.”

The star insists his "best work" was on the soap, which is why he is "thrilled" to make a comeback one decade later.

He said: "This year marked ten years since Sean fled from Walford after plunging into a frozen lake. A decade since I left the studio at Elstree and Sean Slater behind to move to the USA to chase a dream that seemed so farfetched.

"Throughout my career I have always felt that my best work was on EastEnders as Sean Slater, that there was something there in him that I understood completely, something traumatic, something that we never really got to show the viewers.

"I have unfinished business in Albert Square and am thrilled to be returning to what I still consider to be my home, however briefly."
