EastEnders star Danny Dyer has opened up about his mental health battle.
The Mick Carter actor expressed his feelings during another episode of his and daughter Dani’s podcast ‘Sorted with the Dyers’.
‘I’ve had a tough week, mentally’, he said.
‘You need to express it, this is what it’s about now. We go through these times when we just don’t know how the f*** we are, and we struggle being who we are. Whatever the f*** that is.
‘It’s been on me a little, my brain has been attacking me. It’s really difficult, and I wanted to put that out there because I needed to do that.’
The actor, who will leave his role as Mick Carter soon, hoped that by talking about his experiences, other people will do the same.
‘Anyone out there that is struggling, you’ve got to open your mouth and say it. Stop saying to people, “I’m fine,” because if you’re f***ing not then express it.
‘Now I’ve expressed it, I feel slightly better’, he continued.
‘Still a little f***ed in the nut, not going to lie. But anyone out there who is with me, don’t worry. I’m going through it as well.
‘It’s OK and you will come through it.’
The news that Danny would be leaving EastEnders broke back in January.
Also on the podcast, Danny addressed the news and told listeners why he decided to leave the show.
‘I’ve been contemplating a while now about whether time to roll the dice, take the leap’, he explained.
‘I’ve not been coached by anybody, that’s not true at all, the news is that I’ve not decided to renew my contract, that’s all, it’s not because I’ve fell out with anybody, that job has been amazing for me.
‘I love everybody, it’s an important part of television.’
Danny is expected to leave the show later this year.
