Emmerdale boss teases Thomas King return details amid Belle Dingle ‘journey’

Emmerdale boss, Jane Hudson, has teased details surrounding the return of Thomas King, played by newcomer James Chase.

In upcoming scenes, a mysterious figure watches Belle Dingle and later, when they bump into her, he is revealed to be Tom.

Fans will recall that Tom, who was last seen in the village in 2013, had a relationship with Belle, even convincing her to run away with him.

But he soon had a change of heart and instead fled the village alone by stealing Dan's camper van.

In the upcoming scenes, Belle and Tom, whose dad is late killer Carl King, naturally flirt with one another, catching up.

And as Tom asks Belle for a drink, there's a glint in her eye… Tom and Belle agree to meet up the next day.

Speaking to press, including OK!, Jane teased further: "Jimmy’s nephew Tom King will be coming back into the show.

"He’s been living overseas for quite some time and then he’s come back to England.

"He’s qualified as a vet so I think we all probably know where he’s going to be working…

"And of course, Tom and Belle [Dingle] have a history. They see each other and they rekindle and then we will be on a journey with Tom and Belle for quite some time as we play out the story with them."

However, Tom isn't the only comeback as Jane also teased the return of a "familiar face" in the village, which will leave fans "delighted".

Jane said: "You all know we love a wedding, a summer wedding, in Emmerdale.

"I can tell you there is another wedding [as well as Charity and Mack's] – at least one – coming up before we get to the end of summer.

"I'm not going to tell you who, obviously. And we’ll be having a familiar face returning before the end of summer. I think the audience will be absolutely delighted when this familiar face makes a return to the show."

Jane added that the character will be back "for the foreseeable", teasing further: "Yes, the returning character is coming back for one of the weddings…"
