Emmerdale has released a statement praising Danny Miller for his work as Aaron Dingle after the actor quit.
He had been in the role for 13 years and the team at Emmerdale praised his handling of tough and gritty storylines, adding that he will be a great miss.
A spokesperson told Metro.co.uk:
A spokesperson for Emmerdale told Metro.co.uk: ‘Danny has achieved so much during his time at Emmerdale playing the role of Aaron. He has had to tackle some of the hardest hitting storylines and has made a lasting impact on the show.
‘Aaron is a character our viewers took into their hearts and have followed his rollercoaster journey for years. Danny will be hugely missed and we wish him all the best going forwards.’
Danny is set to star in the upcoming series of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! and he also recently welcomed a baby, so wants to spend more time with his family.
He was emotional when he spoke to us about his decision.
He explained: ‘I unfortunately decided to start a new path in life. I’ve got my baby now and I’m [getting] married next year, it felt like the right time to open a new chapter in my life. I’m very, very emotional about it actually, it’s been a massive part of my life…
‘I’ve wanted to spread my wings for a while and a show like this can give me the opportunity to see what else happens after it. [I can] start a new life with my family and see what happens.’
He added: ‘Obviously, when you’re in a contract and in a fantastic show like Emmerdale, you’re at the hands of the storylines and the writers.
‘That’s something that I wanted to free them of and free myself of, because I wanted to make sure that I could pick and choose, and be there for my baby if I needed to be.’
‘It was a really tough decision, that’s why I’m so emotional about it now, talking about it. I’m hoping that stuff happens after, I’m not holding my breath because why should I?’
Danny’s last scenes will air in coming weeks.
