Emmerdale actress Fiona Wade joined Christine Lampared on Lorraine this morning to talk about the upcoming Big Night Out storyline which begins on the ITV soap tonight.
The soap star noted it will be an “exciting and gripping” week for viewers as a number of big events take place, including Maya (played by Louisa Clein) and Jacob’s (Joe-Warren Plant) relationship being revealed.
And, Fiona hinted that her character Priya could stumble upon the pair kissing as she explained a number of storylines will intermingle.
Speaking of the Big Night Out storyline, she told Christine: “It stretches for a few weeks and it’s very exciting and gripping because the audience will see the big night out and then the aftermath but they won’t quite know what’s happened.
“Then, two weeks later we go back into flashback.”
Christine asked: “So it’s like a trickle effect of what happened?”
When probed about the Maya and Jacob storyline, Fiona went on to spill: “So I can’t say too much but what I can say is somebody on that big night out does catch Maya and Jacob kissing.
“So that story is out there. Obviously the viewers have seen this over months and months, but the characters in the village all get to find out so then you have all the aftermath of that and the drama.”
Touching upon the storyline in a little more detail and Fiona’s character, Christine noted the actress has been part of several high-profile plots.
It was then Fiona hinted she could become embroiled in the Maya and Jacob storyline.
“Oh gosh absolutely and being in such an amazing drama like Emmerdale,” the 40-year-old remarked.
“They write so well and I have been so busy in the years that I’ve been there and I’ve had fun storylines to more serious storylines.
“And, being part of this, ultimately coming into other people’s storylines and being a part of that and this big long thread, it’s been incredible.”
A teaser clip shown on the ITV chat show also saw Priya searching through crowds in the club for her purse which she had lost.
While she eventually finds it, as she heads back to the group of villagers could she spot Maya and Jacob together?
Fiona’s comments come as Maya star Louisa opened up about what will happen once the teacher and her student are caught.
“Being caught in this way means there is no going back,” she told Metro.co.uk. “But it’s how she feels with that.
“Is she someone that’s going to run away and hide from it? Is she someone that’s going to confront it and try and defend herself?
“Is she going to get that opportunity? It’s all to play for still.”
Emmerdale airs tonight on ITV at 7pm.
