This Morning viewers believe Phillip Schofield might have given away a critical clue that mysterious bent copper ‘H’ will be revealed in the Line of Duty finale.
On Sunday evening, Line of Duty series six will finally draw to a close, with the build-up from the investigation into Gail Vella’s (Andi Osho) murder coming to a head.
In a first look at the final episode of the crime drama, it appears that DI Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure), DS Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) and Superintendent Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar) will finally find out the identity of the elusive ‘H’.
On Tuesday’s edition of This Morning, Phillip teased that the show will welcome a ‘very exciting guest’ on Monday’s show, just hours after the Line of Duty finale airs on BBC One.
‘The country is gripped by Line of Duty. We have – and all I’m allowed to say – is on Monday’s show a very exciting guest, pertaining to that show on Monday,’ he said.
Holly Willoughby admitted that she was very happy not to be making the announcement, stating: ‘I’m glad you’re saying this and not me ‘cause I definitely would mess it up.’
‘I’m treading the line of what we were told we were allowed to say this morning and I think I’ve gone right down the middle,’ Phillip added.
‘Treading the line of duty,’ Holly then quipped, laughing nervously.
While Phillip and Holly remained tight-lipped over who this surprise guest will be, several people watching the ITV morning talk show shared their suspicions that the mystery surrounding their identity is a sign it will be ‘H’, referred to by Hastings as ‘The Fourth Man’.
‘I don’t watch #LineofDuty but going by what was just said, they’ll be having the woman who is “H” on the show next Monday,’ one person tweeted.
‘Wonder if this special guest is H after H is revealed on Sunday….hopefully,’ another wrote with a crossed-fingers emoji.
Someone else said that they don’t think H will turn out to be Patricia Carmichael (Anna Maxwell Martin), as the actor made an appearance on This Morning earlier this week.
However, someone else thought that it could be James Nesbitt, who is yet to appear in the series aside from in photographs as Marcus Thurwell.
Will ‘H’ be showing their face on This Morning? Or in the Line of Duty finale, for that matter? Only a few days left until we find out.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
