Loose Women co-host Linda Robson told viewers that she was initially "jealous" of close pal Pauline Quirke's success.

Speaking to her co-hosts Ruth Langsford, Frankie Bridge and Janet Street-Porter, linda admitted that although she was happy for her Birds of a Feather co-star, she couldn't help but feel left out.

"I was jealous of my friend Pauline," Linda started. "I'm really pleased for her don't get me wrong, but what about me?"

She continued, pretending to cry: "Why can't I get a new drama!"

Linda and Pauline worked together on the ITV sitcom Birds of a Feather as sisters Sharon and Tracey that share nothing in common.

Birds of a Feather first aired in 1989, starring Pauline and Linda who had been the best of friends since primary school. The show ran until 1998 until it was picked back up again nearly two decades later, in 2014.

The 2014 version of the show saw the original characters return and the opening of the news series attracted almost eight million viewers.

The show ran until 2020 where fans started to realise that something was up between actresses Linda and Pauline as Pauline didn't appear in that year's Christmas special.

Consequently, in 2021, the show was not renewed.

Linda broke her silence on rumours of a feud between the two, saying: "People say Pauline and I have fallen out. Obviously I couldn't see her during lockdown but I've seen her since."

She told Hello Magazine: "She just doesn't want to act anymore. She's had enough – it's long hours. She's concentrating on her drama academies. She's very hands on, going to classes and all that."

In early 2022, Linda shared a snap of herself, Pauline and co-star Lesley Joseph smiling while they all went out to lunch together.

She captioned the photo: "A lovely lunch with my beautiful friends in the @thedelaunay."
