Loose Women squeal and cringe over Sam Faiers' on the lips kiss with mother-in-law Gaynor

THE Loose Women panel squealed and cringed over Sam Faiers' on the lips kiss with mother-in-law Gaynor on today's show.

The four women were discussing scenes from last night's episode of The Mummy Diaries, which saw Sam, 28, receive a kiss on the lips from boyfriend Paul Knightley's mum.

Host Christine Lampard then reminded her co-stars of the time when Paul kissed his mum on the lips and showed a clip.

As they watched both clips, Nadia Sawalha, Jane Moore and Carol McGiffin squealed before Christine added: "This is obviously a bit of a family thing, they don't see it as being anything weird."

Jane then pretended to kiss Carol, causing more cries and squirming as the audience laughed.

Gaynor first made headlines in 2016 and divided the nations when she kissed her 30-year-old son on the lips during The Baby Diaries.

Twitter reacted immediately to the moment with fans branding it “creepy” and “awkward”.

Last night, after receiving a heartfelt written message in a birthday card from Gaynor, Sam went to thank her – only for Gaynor to plant a smacker on her lips.

"She loves a good snog on the lips does Gaynor,"said one viewer.

"Hold up…why did Sam and Gaynor just kiss?" asked another confused fan while a third commented: "I couldn’t imagine kissing my mother-in-law on the lips".

Gaynor had joined Sam, her partner Paul and their kids, Baby Paul and Rosie, for Sam's 28th birthday celebrations.

She previously defended that kiss between her partner and his mum.

“We’re all really close—it was just a moment," she explained. "The music and the way they edited it, sometimes makes it look a lot worse than what it was.

“I don’t know what people see as controversial. We’re opening the doors to our family life, people are always going to find something to criticise. Especially when you’re first time parents, you make a lot of mistakes.”

Paul agreed, saying: "I don't find anything wrong with it. I'm really close with my mum. It's just something I've always done and will always continue to do.
