Loose Women's Ruthie Henshall broke down on air as she discussed the heartbreaking Covid-19 situation with care homes.

The 53-year-old I'm A Celebrity star became emotional as she told Ruth: "I'm watching my mum die from the window."

There didn't appear to be a dry eye from any of the panel members on Tuesday's show that included, Judi Love, Janet Street-Porter and Kéllé Bryan.

Ruthie, who is famous for being a renowned West End star, explained that she had been desperate to see her mum Gloria but due to the restrictions in place she was only able to see her from a window.

The Billy Elliot musical star explained to Ruth and the other panellists that due to her stint on the ITV reality show she had not been able to see her mum in the flesh since October.

Ruthie explained that while she was in Wales the government had introduced a rule that one person could visit their loved ones from behind a perspex screen.

As Ruthie was going into the castle the role was allocated to her sister and she hasn't been able to see her mum since.
