Greg Davies, host of Channel 4 game show Taskmaster, revealed the famous faces he would have like to have seen on the show. Ahead of the 12th series launch, Greg revealed he would’ve liked to see daytime TV host Lorraine Kelly and actor Joanna Lumley take part.

Speaking to RadioTimes.com, Greg admitted: “I’d like Lorraine Kelly to be on it, she’s such a comforting presence.

“It’d be good to see a different side of her, I suspect there might be an edge to her, so she’d be hilarious.”

After hearing what he had said about her, Lorraine took to Twitter and replied to his request: “I am there – if only to be able to squeeze Greg Davies repeatedly because he is so gorgeous xx #Taskmaster.”

Replying to her comments, fans of Lorraine also backs Greg’s request with @vscobie17 commenting: “Lorraine, you would be amazing! This is my fave show, so clever and funny, do it!”

@richsutcliffe67 also added: “That would be amazing! I love #Taskmaster and Greg Davies and @AlexHorne, best programme on TV (alongside #Lorraine of course!).”

Greg also commented on Joanna Lumley taking part on the show and said: “Joanna Lumley would be great fun, get a bit of celebrity royalty on there.”

Another person Greg also revealed he would like to see on the quirky competition series was actual royalty Prince William.

“It’s the modern monarchy, so why not? Obviously, the door’s closed to Harry now as he’s not an official royal anymore.

“But William or Charles would be more than welcome, actually, there aren’t any situations in my life where I wouldn’t want Prince Charles involved,” he exclaimed.

“I honestly can’t think of any occasions where Prince Charles wouldn’t enhance my enjoyment, not Harry though, he’s banned.”

Although Greg is the host of Taskmaster, he explained that who joins week to week isn’t solely his to make.

“You can tell when people want to be on it, but I’m just one voice, it’s a big group of people who decide,” he said.

The loved Channel 4 game show returned for its twelfth series on Friday night, with five brand new famous faces competing in ridiculous tasks for a chance to win a golden bust of Greg’s head.

This year, the celebrities joining the show are Alan Davies, Desiree Burch, Guz Khan, Morgana Robinson and Victoria Coren Mitchell.

However, fans were left fuming after the censored version of the show was accidentally aired, rather than the explicit version.

Greg Davies and Alex Horn issued an apology after viewers were left without the usual humour of expletives from the celebs.

Greg tweeted: “So sorry the bleeped version of Taskmaster got accidentally played out tonight, but I’m so delighted to see so many people livid about the lack of bad language. Normal language resumed next week #XXXXup.”

Alex also issued an apology on Twitter, writing: “Ah, just come off stage & have been told many times that the wrong versioning Taskmaster was played out.

“Really sorry, bleeped should be on All4, the normal version of this ep will be there soon, and normal service resumed next week, thanks for understanding.”

Fans were relieved to hear the news that the expletive language would be returning next week, and they hadn’t changed the format of the show.

Taskmaster series 12 airs on Thursday’s at 9pm on Channel 4.
