A spokesperson for Love Island has denied that contestant Shannon Singh was booted off the show because she "wouldn't play ball and refused to kiss anyone".
In her shock eviction on Wednesday night's show Shannon, 22, was forced to pack her bags after new girl Chloe Burrows chose to pair up with the Scottish model's partner, Aaron Francis.
Fans of the show were left gobsmacked when the re-coupling resulted in Shannon leaving the ITV programme after just 48 hours in the villa, the shortest ever stint in Love Island history.
TV insiders have alleged that the show's programme-makers "orchestrated" her exit after she failed to get involved in the spirit of the show.
A source claimed to the Mail Online: "During her short time in the villa, Shannon didn't get to know anyone, or partake in the games properly, even refusing to kiss any Islanders.
"She had always promised to be a fun and exciting contestant, but she wouldn't engage in the way producers had hoped – and they have no plans for her to make a dramatic return."
In response to the allegations, a spokesperson told the publication: "This is simply not true."
On the night she was evicted Shannon received a text which read: "Shannon you are now single and therefore have been dumped from the Island. Please pack your bags and say goodbye.”
Left shaken by the text, Shannon quipped: "Well that was short-lived."
However, Shannon insisted she had "no regrets" about her time on the show, with none of the lads taking her fancy in the villa.
The singleton from Glenrothes, Fife, plans to return to streaming raunchy content online. But she admitted: "I am a bit gutted.
"Out of all the girls, I think it is fair it’s me because I didn’t have any emotional attachments to the guys, but all the girls had tiny little things going on."
Shannon said she did not find a bloke to have "a good shot at", adding: "I was gutted I didn’t find that first physical attraction with someone."
The Daily Star has approached ITV for comment on this story.
