Lucifer season six has been confirmed as the final season of the epic devilish drama Lucifer. Now the second half of the fifth outing is on the horizon, fans have begun wondering how it will all come to an end. One theory speculates Chloe Decker (played by Lauren German) could die in the final outing – here’s what you need to know.

Will Chloe Decker die at the end of Lucifer?

When season five was still thought to be the final season, some fans began speculating on how it will all come to an end.

One of the major theories revolved around working out a way for Chloe and Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) to stay together forever.

Part of this concerns the fact Chloe is seemingly mortal while Lucifer is an immortal angel.

This is why some fans were wondering if Chloe might die at the end of the series.

Taking to Reddit user I11I1II1I11III1 wrote: “I think Chloe dies on Earth in a cop shootout and goes to Hell for loving Lucifer, but her body gets possessed by Lilith and she meets Lucifer in Hell.

“Lucifer notices Lilith is missing and together they go back to Earth to reclaim Chloe’s body and bring Lilith back to Hell, and then either Chloe becomes the queen of Hell alongside Lucifer, or they make something up for why she can go back to Earth.

“Maybe with God’s help? And everything goes back to normal, with Lucifer occasionally having set vacations to Earth.”

Obviously part of this theory cannot be right as the mystery surrounding Lilith has seemingly already been resolved.

However, it is possible the showrunners of the series have some more twists up their sleeves.

The stars have also confirmed a little bit about what the plans for ending the show are.

This is because season five was originally supposed to be the final outing for the show.

Therefore, when the series was brought back for a sixth season, some parts of the ending had to be changed.

Speaking to Metro, Dan Espinoza star Kevin Alejandro said: “All of us went into it, and continued throughout the journey, up until the episode before the last one, thinking this was our series finale.

“That this [season five] was the show finale. You can tell, I think… through the scripts and through the episodes that they didn’t hold anything back, they were just pushing forward.

“Everyone was under that impression, until Netflix changed their minds. So it sort of threw us all for a loop!

“Obviously we’re all super, super excited, just surprised. As a result, the team have had to make some tweaks to the season five finale, in order for us to get the ultimate season five possible.”

One of the latest updates on the final series to be revealed is how it will be shorter than usual.

Instead of the 16 episodes which series five had, it has been reported by TV Line how season six will have just 10.
