Paloma Faith replaces Jessie J as a coach on The Voice Kids after doing a one-series stint on the main show in 2016 – The Sun

PALOMA FAITH spun out of The Voice after one series as a coach in 2016, but now she will be whizzing around on the big red chairs once again.

Paloma joins, Pixie Lott and Danny Jones on The Voice Kids on ITV next year, replacing Jessie J who quit after just one series on the prime-time show.

A telly source said: “Jessie was a good addition to the panel but TV isn’t what she’s focused on right now and she didn’t want to be tied down by the commitments of the series.

“She splits her time between the UK and the US, where boyfriend Channing Tatum lives, so being here all the time doesn’t make much sense.

“Producers couldn’t persuade Paloma to stay on the panel after her stint three years ago but they have talked her into returning.

“They think she will be great because she’s such a zany character.”

‘It’s going to be fun’

Jessie said of her decision to leave the programme: “I made unforgettable memories and learned so much.

“But for now I am going to be focusing on making music.

“So, sadly, I am saying goodbye to the show and my big red chair this year.”

Filming begins inDecember and the vibe on set will be much different to Paloma’s year on the regular series.

Then she butted heads with Boy George, as one particularly explosive row left her sobbing.

But with kids on this one, it is more likely they will be the emotional ones.

Paloma, who attended the launch of Amazon’s The Home Of Black Friday pop-up experience in London on Wednesday, said: “It’s going to be so much fun working with these young singers, helping them find their voices and be the best they can be.

“From what I’ve seen, although they’re small, their voices are often mighty and can give most adults a run for their money.”

You had better watch out then, Paloma.

Surprise footage of Cilla

AFTER a rummage through its cupboards, ITV has put together a show that should excite fans of Cilla Black.

The channel has unearthed footage shedding new light on the Surprise, Surprise presenter, who died in 2015.

Cilla: The Lost Tapes will air early next year, combining previously unseen clips and interviews with friends and colleagues.

Together, they will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the life of the former cloakroom attendant.

A telly source said: “Cilla was loved for her on-screen persona but she also had a ruthless side and her penchant for straight talking was as legendary as her warm and bubbly style.

“Other little-known facts come out too, like her being Mary Berry’s neighbour and how she was offered the role of Michael Caine’s girlfriend in The Italian Job.

“She once treated herself to a £1.4million diamond ring.”

ITV has commissioned a five-part look at The Savoy hotel, following its staff throughout the Christmas period.

Each hour-long episode will give viewers an insight into life behind the scenes at the 130-year-old London institution.

Sophie wowed by legend Glenda

GENTLEMAN Jack star Sophie Rundle had a girl crush on co-star Glenda Jackson when they worked on BBC1 drama Elizabeth Is Missing.

Sophie said the chance to act with Glenda, who plays her Alzheimer’s-suffering mother, made her keen on the project.

She said: “I was really nervous about meeting Glenda.

“She’s this powerhouse figure, I’m so amazed by her. She’s so cool. She’s my new girl crush! She’s smart as a whip, she never complains, she just gets on with it.

“She’s giving this amazing performance . . . she’s just lovely to be around. She’s quite twinkly and a bit naughty, which I like.”

Glenda spent more than 20 years away from screens, having been a Labour MP from 1992 to 2015.

In the new drama, which starts on December 8, she searches for a missing friend, unearthing mysteries about her own family, while facing the bleak prospect of advancing dementia.

IT’S A Wrap, the spin-off of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, will air a final episode showing reaction to the winner being crowned.

Graham Norton, Alan Carr and Michelle Visage will reflect on the BBC3 series with RuPaul.

Will it be parting shot for Shona?

IT’S never a completely happy time on the cobbles over Christmas, and Coronation Street’s festive offering is set to be more explosive than ever.

After tying the knot this year, show favourite Shona Platt, played by Julia Goulding, is set to be shot by bad boy Gary Windass (Mikey North), and left fighting for her life.

The crew have been filming heart-wrenching hospital scenes, with hubby David Platt, played by Jack P Shepherd, distraught.

A source said: “It’s an exciting storyline, with tensions running sky-high.

“There is always a battle between Corrie and its rival BBC1 soap to see who can have the most extreme Christmas Day episode, and ITV have pulled out all the stops to bring in the highest viewing figures.

“It’s a risky storyline touching on gun crime, but it breaks the mould and will have fans talking.”

It comes after rumours Shona could be making a shock exit from the soap.

Reality is a 'con'

MOST people have heard of Comic Con events – celebrations of comic-book and sci-fi culture. Now reality telly fans are getting an equivalent.

MTV’s Reality Con is a three-day event at Exhibition London from May 8, with Charlotte Crosby and Joey Essex topping the bill.

It will include cast members from the channel’s reality hits, a recreation of the Geordie Shore house, games and live DJ sets, plus plenty of photo opportunities, of course.

With space for 16,000 visitors a day, Charlotte and Joey will be very busy.
